“My expectation for what God wants to do in these times to draw people to Himself has shot through the roof. I believe He wants to take us places we’ve never been before. I believe we need to take both ourselves and the Lord out of any box we may have put ourselves or Him into previously. It’s time to step in, step up and step out.”
My reply is, yes! And I think he has always wanted to; and it’s us who are waking up.
Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.
Romans 13:11-14 ESV
My prayers are for believers to wake up to living from our hearts not our senses and heads. God is not always nice on our standards, and won’t fit our cultural norms. Jesus came to redeem us from both these things.
Father, lead us out of our blindness to you because of our minds set on our worlds ways.
I pray for the believers in Jesus Christ to;
Wake up to loving God with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength; delivered from the God of mammon (Matthew 6:24). Father convict us and deliver us from our hearts attachment to money and what it does in promising freedom security, power and enjoyment.
Wake up to what Christ has finished for us, to persevering in holding onto faith in this. Luke 8:15, Hebrews 6:15, 10:39 We don’t need to understand it all to believe in all Jesus has finished for us. God will lead us into what he has prepared as we believe. It’s fallacy and lie from the devil that we need to understand before we believe. Father, deliver us from the lie that we need to understand.
Wake us up to willing obedience, and to seeing that overcoming is essential. That overcoming is faith in the blood of Jesus and loving not our lives on earth (Revelation 12:11). Will we lay down our lives for others to come into our Father’s love? Father purify our hearts to love you alone.
Wake up to being one in Christ. This is huge in the face of what is being manifest in our world currently. Our authority is in being one, one with Christ and one with his body. His body the church is one, his bride is one. We sometimes act is if all the authority is on us as individuals, it’s not. It’s on the body therefore we can only exercise the delegated authority of Christ to the degree we are one with the body of Christ. And this oneness is our hearts and faith first, and will be revealed in our words and actions. Father, wake us up to Jesus prayer for who believe in Him to be one. (John 17:20-23)
Wake up believers to the schemes of the devil while bring less fascinated with them. Father open our eyes to more awareness of devils schemes while having less concern and no panic or fear. Father wake us up to the spirit behind what we see and guard our hearts and mouths from responding with the same spirit. Guard us from replying to accusation and intimidation that seek to dominate and control with accusation and intimidation that seek to dominate and control for Jesus. Father wake us up to those schemes that release judgement in the church creating divisions where you are praying for unity.
These are the prayers on my heart for these days, for myself and the church. Through an awoken church, who arise and shine, God will achieve his goals of saving many people; he will bless and increase this church. And when I say church I am not speaking of a particular congregation, movement or denomination.
I pray for a church that is more concerned with walking in step with the Spirit, than everything and anything else. A church whose hearts are unconditionally given to God. This church will terrorise hell and love people into the kingdom of God.
